Timberland uses Dow Voralast soling system
Dow Footwear Solutions announced at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market Show that it will now supply its Voralast soling with renewable content to The Timberland Company, for use in the brand’s the Miōn spring 2008 line of outdoor footwear.
The Voralast R series—an extension of the established Dow range of Voralast soling systems—contains natural oil polyols which result in less energy consumption and fewer greenhouse gas emissions during production, and is said to deliver performance and superior comfort whilst also meeting the increasing demand for environmentally-friendly products that contain renewable raw materials.
In addition to outdoor footwear, Voralast soling systems are used for mid-sole, insole and other soling applications for casual, business and safety shoes.
