VF completes acquisition of specialist women's activewear brand

Branded outdoor and sportswear apparel company VF Corporation has completed the acquisition of lucy, an Oregon-based specialist provider of activewear specifically for women.
The 680 lucy employees will continue in their roles, under chief executive, Mike Edwards, and in their current base in Portland.
Mr Edwards commented at the time of the announcement that under VF's ownership, the company would be able to introduce new products more quickly, expand on its 50 retail outlets and improve its customer service.
VF's chief executive, Mackey McDonald, said he had every confidence the lucy brand could continue to grow under his company's guidance.
