When cycling met Swarovski

Among the things to see at the IFMA exhibition in Cologne, which will take place between September 13 and 16, will be a women’s racing bike worth €20,000.

The white bicycle will have glittering crystal stones from Swarovski on its frame, and python-skin coverings on the saddle on the handlebars.

The bike is made to look like an exclusive wristwatch and is a collaboration between gear manufacturer SRAM and jeweller Manfred Hielscher, a great cycling enthusiast.

Both partners argue that there is a connection because bikes and watches both require high-quality mechanical components and absolute precision.
