Invista builds in 'spa-effect' micro encapsulation

04/09/2007

Fibre and polymer manufacturer Invista has used the Interfilière exhibition in Lyon to present some new added-value options involving Lycra.

One of the new ideas is LYCRA spaFX fabric, which uses micro encapsulation technology to deliver "benefits   that  pamper  the  mind  and  body". The  technology works by
distributing natural ingredients which can soothe and revitalise the wearer onto
the fabric in microcapsule form. Whenever  the body moves, the stretch and recovery properties of the Lycra enable the microcapsules to burst more easily and release these benefits to the skin’s surface.

It  is  available  in  two  formats. The first collection is called 'Naturals',  which involves substances such as Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Sea  Kelp.

Another spaFX collection has the name 'Aromatherapy', which adds lavender, vanilla, peppermint and other substances that can help  keep  skin  feeling  soft  and  revitalised;  and even help the wearer relax.

All scents have been dermatologically tested.

The effects of the 'Naturals' collection could last for up to 35 washes, while those of the 'Aromatherapy' collection should withstand around 20.
