Slovakian entrepreneur and outdoor activity enthusiast, Robert Štefko, is preparing to launch a new retail outlet in central Prague for premium international outdoor brands.

The store, called Base Camp, will start by selling apparel and footwear, but will add a wide range of other equipment to its product offering at a later date.

"There’s a gap in the outdoor market," Mr Štefko said on presenting his plans to local media. "Nobody offers an extensive selection of luxury brands here. Our target customers will be sports-minded business managers who enjoy hiking in high mountains or skiing."

He added that he intends to return to Slovakia next year to open a second Base Camp in Bratislava.
