Rockport appoints new CEO
11/09/2007
The parent company Rockport, adidas, has announced an unexpected change of leadership of the outdoor footwear brand.
Rockport's existing chief executive, Rick Paterno, will step aside on January 1, having made considerable progress in making the brand truly global and in pushing it into the fashion space.
His replacement will be Michael Rupp, chief operating officer of Reebok. Mr Rupp will report directly to Herbert Hainer, chairman and chief executive of the adidas group.
Some reports have suggested that Rick Paterno is leaving by choice, having taken Rockport as far as he feels he can.
