Several new golfwear lines incorporating fabrics and finishes from Swiss technical fabric developer Schoeller are now ready for use on the range.

One such company, Germany-based Porsche Design, has taken advantage of the company’s c_change bionic climate membrane, which is water and windproof, and offers a flexible climate function.

Other Schoeller technologies that are being used in golf apparel include 3XDry - Feelgood Technology, which uses an ‘Advanced Moisture Management System’ and a self-cleaning NanoSphere finish, which offers water and dirt repellence.

Golf has become increasingly popular in recent years, with an estimated 55-62 million participants now taking part in the sport. And, with approximately 32,000 courses available in 119 countries worldwide, the golf phenomenon looks set to stay.

The sport is also now appealing more to younger sportspeople, and Schoeller is determined to equip these young golfers with functional, stylish attire for use on the course and in the clubhouse.

Other companies currently using the company’s technologies include BMW, Burberry, Daks Golf, Iconic Sports, Polo Ralph Lauren, Puma and The North Face.
