Positive first half performance at John David

Sports inspired fashion apparel and footwear company The John David Group, Plc. has posted higher revenues for the first half of 2007, ended July 28. Revenues for the period increased 6.2% to £250.5 million compared with £235.9 million in the same period last year.

Post-tax profit was £3.5 million, up from £2.1 million in the first half of 2006. Net debt was paid off during the period and the company posted net cash of £7.1 million compared with net debt of £24.9 million in the prior-year period.

Furthermore, according to executive chairman, Peter Cowgill, trading since the end of July has been “highly satisfactory”. He added that year-to-date trading was running moderately ahead of current market expectations.
