27/09/2007

Textile dye-stuff and auxiliary chemicals supplier DyStar has acquired a majority stake in India-based textile testing institute Texanlab.

Texanlab, which will continue to operate independently, is one of the largest textile testing institutes in Asia and is an accredited test institute for international brands and retailers.

It focuses on ecological testing and performs third-party quality-control testing on garments and textiles as well as on dyes and auxiliaries used in textile processing.

The acquisition will coordinate with DyStar’s ‘Testing Solutions and Ecological Solutions’ service packages.

Head of DyStar’s Asia-Pacific Region, Peter Zinser, said of the acqusition: “It supports our vision of building a bridge between international textile retailers, brands and mills in Asia...Through Texanlab we can now test textiles to ensure they meet the necessary quality and ecological specifications.”
