Textiles and clothing top Vietnam’s export list

27/09/2007

Estimates from Vietnam’s General Statistics Office show that the country’s exports for the last nine months increased 19.4% compared with the prior-year period, totalling $35.2 billion.

Data showed that textiles and ready-to-wear items were the country’s highest export earner. Exports from the sector totalled $5.8 billion, $3 billion of which were received by the US.

Crude oil was the second in line, with exports fetching $5.7 billion, followed by footwear with $3 billion.

It has now been predicted that exports could exceed the $45 billion annual export target by more than $3 billion.
