Pink perfection

The manufacturer of a new football, in use in Mexico's top division for the first time this season, is delighted with its performance.
The country's top football clubs are now ten games into the new campaign and the makers of the new football, Mexican sports footwear, clothing and equipment brand Voit, say they are delighted with its performance.
Manufacturing partner EAI has used micro-cells filled with low-density foam on the surface of the ball, and a thermo-dynamic process instead of stitching or gluing to hold the panels together. The result is smoother surface, smooth enough for Voit to call it perfect.
The ball is called Tribu Rosa, or Pink Tribe, because of its unusual colour. The manufacturers produced it at the request of the Mexican Football Federation, which wanted to use the initiative to raise awareness of breast cancer in Mexico.
