Nanotechnology—an industry challenge

The Italian Federation of Chemical Companies, Federchimica, has said nanotechnology represents "a true challenge" to its industry.
In a statement released in the build-up to an industry exhibition in Milan this week, the organisation said nanotechnology also offered real possibilities for growth across the Italian economy, with the textiles industry one of the principal areas of application.
Federchimica has drawn up a plan to help companies set up worthwhile research and development projects focused on the technology. The plan offers interested companies advice on finding venture capital funding for projects, and also a nanotechnology "code of conduct".
