President and chief operating officer at lifestyle apparel company VF Corporation, Eric Wiseman, is to become chief executive officer as of January 1, 2008. He Wiseman will succeed CEO Mackey McDonald, who will continue to serve as chairman of the board.

Mr Wiseman has 29 years experience in the apparel industry. He joined the company in 1995 as executive vice president of the JanSport brand and has held various leadership roles across its coalitions. He became executive vice president, global brands, in May 2005, was appointed president and chief operating officer in March 2006 and was elected to the board in October 2006.
