Major increase in non-European visitors at PV Pluriel
International visitor numbers were up across the four shows at Première Vision Pluriel, held in Paris from September 18-21.
Première Vision and Expofil saw a 5.5% year-on-year increase in total visits, which rose to 47,374, with 73% coming from outside France. Of these external visitors, the UK had the highest number of participants, up 1.5% compared with the September 2006 edition. Other European countries showing significant increases were Austria (+33.3%), Greece (+26.6%) and Poland (+21.8%).
Outside Europe, visitors from China (+40.5%), Argentina (+35%) and Brazil (+30.4%) showed the highest growth.
Indigo Fashion attracted 12,506 visitors, up 12.8% compared with the 2006 show and the proportion of international participants remained stable at 73%. European visitors accounted for 60%, with the number of Italian visitors up 34%.
The United States remained the top non-European visiting country, taking fifth place and with numbers up 5%. Meanwhile, Brazil doubled its numbers (190 compared with 95) and Chinese attendance was up 68%.
Synergies with Première Vision welcomed 1,225, up 70% compared with September 2006 and accounting for 10% of Indigo’s visitors.
British ambassador, Sir Peter Westmacott, gave out prizes to 24 young designers from the Texprint competition and many visitors gathered to see the emerging and creative brands.
