Smart textiles featured as the second prediction of ten in an Outlook 2008 report from The World Future Society.

The report, which examines trends in technology, the environment, the economy and international relations, believes technical textiles will be very significant in the coming year.

It predicts that “fashion will go wired” and that innovations such as colour-changing or perfume emitting jeans and iPod enabled athletic shoes are just a drop in the ocean of what is to come in terms of smart fashion.
