New apparel management appointments at Nike

Nike, Inc. has named US vice president, apparel, Jill Stanton, vice president of global apparel for the Nike brand. Ms Stanton succeeds Roger Wyett, who has been appointed CEO of the company’s wholly-owned action sports and youth lifestyle brand Hurley International. Ms Stanton will report to Nike brand president, Charlie Denson, while Mr Wyett will report to Lee Bird, president of its affiliate brands.

Ms Stanton joined the company in the UK as apparel business director in 1997 and has since held a variety of apparel leadership positions, including general manager of Asia Pacific apparel.

Joe Serino, who has more than 25 years experience in the apparel industry, has taken over as vice president of apparel for the US. He joined Nike in 2004 as general manager, global sport performance apparel and was most recently vice president, general manager, of Asia Pacific apparel. Prior to joining Nike, he served as president of menswear design for Calvin Klein and served as general manager of menswear for J. Crew.

Mr Wyett also has more than 25 years experience in the apparel industry, including seven years at Nike. He first joined the company in 1994 and has held a number of key senior apparel roles in soccer and Nike team sports before leading global product creation. Before joining Nike, he worked in the apparel industry in Los Angeles for 14 years, including five years at Puma USA.

The company has also appointed Jayme Martin vice president of the Americas region, reporting to president of global operations, Gary DeStefano. He replaces Mary Kate Buckley, who was recently named vice president of apparel for the EMEA region. Mr Martin has more than ten years experience at Nike in strategic planning and footwear leadership roles. His most recent role was vice president of footwear in EMEA.

Nike's global apparel business is worth almost $4.6 billion in revenues, representing approximately one-third of total brand revenues.
