15/10/2007
In 2006, China's textile exports increased 19% compared with 2005 and apparel exports jumped 29%. Meanwhile, rising wages and increasing interest in fashion has created new textile opportunities domestically. China's per capita fibre consumption nearly doubled between 2000 and 2005, from 7.5 kg to 14 kg. And yarn imports to China in 2006 increased 6% compared with 2005, totalling $4.5 billion.
Natural fibres and yarns including cotton, wool, silk and linen/ramie will be presented alongside regenerated and synthetic fibres and yarns as well as specialty products such as elastic and blended yarns and computer-related services.
