Israel-based manufacturer of nylon 6.6 for the intimate apparel, legwear, swim, and activewear markets Nilit has been certified by the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, confirming that its yarns are free from harmful levels of more than 100 substances.

The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certification is a voluntary testing and certification system for textile fibres, yarns, fabrics, and manufactured products. It tests for banned or regulated substances and chemicals that are known to be harmful to humans.

“Since our yarns are used in next-to-the-body garments, we have always been very careful in ensuring that our products do not contain any chemicals that could be potentially harmful to the wearer,” says the company’s US marketing director, Molly Kremidas.

“Nilit’s commitment to the safety of their products for their manufacturing employees, their customers’ manufacturing employees, the end users, and the environment is commendable,” said Manfred Wentz, US director for Oeko-Tex.
