Sportswear sales up 10% at Columbia
Outdoor apparel retailer Columbia Sportswear Co. has posted net income of $62.6 million for its third quarter ended September 30, a 4% increase compared with $60.3 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues also rose 4% to $471.1 million compared with $454.1 million in the third quarter of 2006.
Its sportswear sales rose 10%, offsetting a 1% sales decline in its outerwear segment. Its Columbia brand sales rose 7%, which helped to offset a decline in revenues for its Pacific Trail and Montrail brands.
