Australian Wool Innovation’s (AWI) website www.merinoinnovation.com has won a 2007 World Summit Award for best e-business. Winners were chosen from 650 entries across 160 countries, and AWI was the only Australian entry to win an award.

The official winners’ announcement and celebration will take place at the WSA 2007 Gala on November 5 in Venice.

The site has a Chinese and English version and offers a monthly newsletter covering trends, colours and innovations in Australian Merino wool. CEO Craig Welsh said: “Merino Source will allow customers to search textiles, garments, yarns and wool top from a range of suppliers across the globe.”
