Dow raises acrylates prices

The Dow Chemical Company have posted off-schedule price increases for its acrylic acid and esters, also known as acrylic monomers or acrylates, effective November 1, or according to contract terms.

The company will increase off-schedule prices for butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, methyl acrylate and glacial acrylic acid as follows: by $0.04 per pound in North America; by $90 per metric ton in Asia Pacific, the Middle East/Africa and Latin America; and by €60 per metric ton in Europe.

Acrylic monomers are used in dispersions and emulsions for adhesives, coatings, inks, woven and non-woven textiles, plastics and polymers and superabsorbent products.
