Nike to supply NFL gloves

Nike recently deepened its business relationship with the US National Football League by agreeing to supply it with branded gloves. It already has a footwear and promotional rights agreement with the league.

The new deal became effective in week eight of the season, beginning with games on October 28, allowing players to wear Nike gloves displaying the Swoosh logo on-field for the first time in more than six years. The Magnigrip Elite Remix and Speedtack IV gloves are its most popular performance gloves.

As a part of the expanded agreement it will work with the NFL on grassroots programmes to encourage physical activity among young people. Nike's ‘Let Me Play’ programme will work in tandem with the NFL's ‘Play 60’ initiative, a programme designed to motivate youth exercise for 60 minutes a day. Nike will also provide promotional support to the NFL Flag Football programme as part of the extended agreement.
