Apparel and hosiery company Hanesbrands Inc. has appointed William Nictakis to the newly created position of president, chief commercial officer, effective November 12. He will report to CEO Richard Noll.

Mr Nictakis has more than 25 years experience at companies including Sara Lee Corporation and Frito-Lay.

The company has also named Howard Upchurch as executive vice president and general manager of domestic innerwear and John Marsh as senior vice president and general manager of domestic casual wear. Mr Upchurch, who joined Hanesbrands in 1987, previously ran its domestic intimate apparel business. Mr Marsh joined the company in 1995.
