New European manager at Columbia

Outdoor apparel and footwear firm Columbia Sportswear Company has appointed Christian Finell general manager Europe. He is expected to start on December 1 and will report to vice president of sales, Mick McCormick.

He joins the company from Salomon SA, where he spent 17 years. He most recently served as head of Salomon EMEA. Mr Finell is originally from Finland but will be based at the company’s European headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

The company’s outdoor brands include Columbia Sportswear, Montrail, Mountain Hardwear, Pacific Trail and Sorel.
