Bombay Rayon to open new Maharashtra units
Mumbai-based woven, dyed and printed fabrics Bombay Rayon Fashions Limited (BRFL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the government of Maharashtra which will allow it to expand its fabric and garment making capacity. It plans to set up new facilities at Tarapur, Islampur, Ichalkaranji, Latur, Nanded and Osmanabad.
It currently has a fabric processing capacity of 150,000 metres per day and garment making capacity of 100,000 garments per day in Karnataka. However, it has decided to further extend its capabilities by setting up Greenfield Units for yarn dyeing, weaving, processing and garment making in Maharashtra.
It currently employs more than 30,000 people but the added units are likely to raise staffing levels to more than 50,000 people.
