Speedo supplies Paralympic swimmers
Reports indicate that Sydney-based swimwear manufacturer Speedo is to supply the Australian Paralympic swimming team with a range of products at the Beijing Paralympic Games in 2008.
These will include swimwear, training suits, goggles, swimming hats and towels. Around 25 Australian swimmers are expected to make the team, which has enjoyed considerable success in recent years. It boasts four current World Champions: Matt Cowdrey, Peter Leek, Daniel Bell and Ben Austin. In 2004, the Australian swim team won 35 medals (six gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze) and set 11 new World or Paralympic records.
“It’s fantastic that we will go to Beijing knowing that the whole swim team will be able to perform at their best by wearing the latest technology in swimwear,” said five-time Paralympic World Champion, Matt Cowdrey.
