US apparel and accessories apparel designer Perry Ellis International has posted a 6.7% rise in revenues for the third quarter ended October 31. Revenues totalled $227.5 million compared with $213.2 million in the corresponding period last year. Gross profit was up $4.5 million to $76.9 million, while net income rose 3.6% to $8.5 million year-on-year. The company said sales in its golf and action sports segments had fared particularly well, despite an industry-wide slump during the quarter.

For the first nine months, revenues rose 8.9% to $651.5 million compared with $598.3 million in the prior-year period. Net income for the period totalled $18.3 million compared with $11.7 million.
