American apparel and accessories designer Guess?, Inc. has appointed Massimo Macchi as president of Guess Europe, effective in December. He will report directly to chief executive officer and vice chairman, Paul Marciano, and will be based in Florence, Italy.

Mr Macchi has 30 years experience in the fashion and consumer products industries. He was most recently group executive vice president and CEO at luxury clothing company Gianfranco Ferre and has also served as executive vice president of IT Holdings, which manages brands such as Gianfranco Ferre, Versace Jeans Couture, Versace Sport and Malo. He has also held senior positions at Bulgari Group, Gucci Group and Testoni Group.
