EOG to vote on OutDoor venue
The European Outdoor Group (EOG) is to decide on the future venue of the OutDoor show after next year’s event. The group is to survey approximately 200 European retailers, the key target audience for exhibitors, in order to gauge opinion over where the event should be held when its contract with current organisers, Messe Friedrichshafen, expires in 2008. The survey will be handled by an independent body and the results will be used to help guide the group as it makes its decision.
Members will vote at a secret ballot on January 26 to decide where the show should be held. The outcome will be announced at a press conference on January 30.
Several new members have joined the EOG including footwear manufacturer Merrell, outdoor footwear brand Kamik and Italian trekking shoe firm Aku. It now has 47 members.
