Sales were up 7% at American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. for the 13 weeks ended November 3 compared with the prior-year period. Sales for the quarter reached $744.4 million compared with $696.3 million for the corresponding period last year.

However, net income fell 2% to $99.4 million compared with $100.9 million last year. Net income was 13.4% of sales compared with 14.5% last year.

The company designs, markets and sells outerwear, footwear, basic apparel and swimwear for the 15 to 25 age group.
