30/11/2007

US-based manufacturer of alpine, Nordic and telemark skis, snowboards and related products K2 Sports has celebrated the completion of its new 310,000-sq. ft. headquarters in Seattle with a snow-shovelling ceremony.

Construction work started in September 2006 and 220 employees from its former headquarters on Vashon Island, Washington – which is now closed – have been relocated. The new headquarters houses all of the company’s US operations under one roof for the first time in its history.

K2 Sports has acquired multiple winter sport brands over the past three years, including Tubbs and Atlas snowshoes, Karhu Telemark skis, Line twin tip alpine skis and Full Tilt ski boots. Other brands owned by the group include K2 skis, snowboards and skates; Ride snowboards; Morrow and 5150 snowboards; and Madshus Nordic skis.

The company has wholly-owned subsidiaries in Canada, Central Europe, Japan, Korea and Scandinavia and distributes in more than 60 countries.
