Adidas unveils Euro 2008 match ball
UEFA and adidas have launched the official Euro 2008 match ball in Lucerne, Switzerland. The ball's new surface structure is said to allow players to control and direct it more accurately regardless of weather conditions. The PSC texture on the ball's outer skin offers improved grip between ball and boot.
The ball is called Europass, a reference to the well-known "Euro" pass between the two host countries of Austria and Switzerland. The name has also been chosen to represent each pass the players make on the pitch during the championship.
The ball has a white base colour with black dots and features round elements in silver and red. The national flags of both host countries have been integrated into the ball design. The ball is made up of 14 panels using thermal bonding technology and is now available for retail.
