Le Château Q3 sales continue to rise
Canadian apparel, footwear and accessories retailer Le Château Inc. has reported that a 18.5% increase in net earnings for its third quarter ended October 27. Earnings were $9.9 million compared with $8.35 million for the third quarter ended October 28, 2006. Sales for the quarter increased 5.5% to $82.1 million from $77.8 million for the same period last year.
For the nine-month period ended October 27, sales rose 11.9% to $236.1 million compared with $210.9 million last year. The company opened 16 new stores, closed one store and expanded 11 existing locations in this nine-month period. Net earnings increased 29.6% to $21.4 million from $16.5 million the previous year.
Meanwhile, for the first five weeks ended December 1, sales have increased 11.5% and comparable store sales have increased 6.2% year-on-year.
