11/12/2007

As reported on sportstextiles.com at the time, a young designer from Sweden, Jan-Fahrenheit Betros, won an award at the Innovations for Extreme 2007 conference at the end of September.

He has now announced the launch of his own 'green' brand for sportswear,
RÖJK, and is already looking for distributors in other parts of Europe.

A former international gymnast, he won the award for a
prototype of a new base-layer garment which he had put together while still a student, using recycled and recyclable polyester given to him by Polartec.

Vice president of product development at Polartec, Doug Lumb, said on hearing about the launch of
RÖJK:  “It is in the best interest of the outdoor market for companies like Polartec to encourage young designers and textile technologists to break the standards with new looks and technology application. Jan-Fahrenheit has turned up the heat in design by applying the right fabrics into innovative design."

With the launch of
RÖJK, the top will now become available in black/ white, black/hot pink and black/moss green in Polartec's Power Dry and Power Stretch fabrics.
