ITCE Cairo to grow 25%
Textiles, embroidery, and sewing machinery and accessories exhibition ITCE CAIRO 2008 is expected to register record visitor attendance and a 25% increase in space covered. It is to be held from February 28 to March 2.
More than 700 exhibitors from 30 countries have already confirmed their participation at the show, which will fill 12 halls at the Cairo International Fair Ground. The show is expected to attract more than 32,000 trade visitors from 18 countries and covers all cotton processing operations including spinning, weaving, converting, dyeing, sewing machinery, raw materials and garment manufacturing.
Chairman and CEO of the exhibition’s organiser ACG-ITF, Ahmed Ghozzi, said: "Since its launch in 1993, the ITCE has achieved growth rates of between 30-40 per cent, which makes it one of the fastest-growing industry events in the world."
Egypt is the largest textile manufacturer in the Middle East and North Africa region, with exports of woven and knitted apparel to the USA alone set to exceed $2 billion by the end of this year. Egypt's textile industry has been a major revenue source for the country and has posted an annual average growth rate of 6.5%.
