Sweden-based apparel, footwear and accessories company Gant has appointed Dirk-Jan Stoppelenburg as its new CEO. He will start no later than July 1, 2008, and CFO Henrik Fredin will act as CEO until then. Mr Stoppelenburg joins the company from Tetra Pak Benelux, where he was managing director.

The lifestyle brand operates in more than 70 countries through more than 310 independent Gant stores and more than 4,000 retailers. Its 2006 sales totalled SEK6.2 billion ($940.7 million).
