Industry to invest in new technology
03/01/2008
The Indonesian textile industry is expecting 2008 to be a good year. The country's Textile Producers Association (API) has set itself an export sales target of around $10.5 billion. This would represent a 10% increase on 2007.
Producers are confident of being able to invest as much as $500 million in new technology, which will help them increase the amount of textiles they produce from 1.2 million tonnes last year to 1.3 million in 2008.
