Ploucquet CEO resigns

04/01/2008

Textile solutions provider Ploucquet Holding GmbH has announced that its chief executive, Martin Friedrich, stepped down on December 31 "for personal reasons". The Munich-based company has appointed Thomas Baierlein to succeed him and has said that Mr Friedrich will help with the transition.

Mr Baierlein has made a name for himself in the textile industry in Germany in recent years after he set himself up as a consultant in 2005. Before that, he was managing director of textile retailer Takko Holding and chief executive of Mustang Jeans. Earlier in his career he held a management position at Reebok.

He will also become the chief executive of windproof, waterproof and breathable membrane manufacturer Sympatex Technologies, which is part of the Ploucquet Group.

Group chairman, Dr Harald Einsmann, said on announcing the management change: "The owners of Ploucquet Group are delighted to have won such a personally and professionally highly qualified manager. We have complete trust that the new leadership has the managerial qualities and branding skills to successfully embrace the opportunities lying ahead."
