Apparel, accessories and footwear retailer Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. plans to close its remaining 154 demo stores as soon as possible. The company had closed 74 underperforming demo stores by April 2007 and now expects the remaining stores during the first quarter. It expects to incur pre-tax charges of between $35 million and $50 million as a result of the closures.

The company will also close its distribution centre in Anaheim, California, and relocate all its distribution activities to its main distribution centre in Olathe, Kansas.
