US PPE market to hit $7.2 billion mark
According to a new report from research company SBI entitled ‘Personal Protective Equipment in the US’, forecasts the American personal protective equipment (PPE) market will be worth $7.2 billion by 2012. The group predicts annual growth of 3%.
However, this is a slower rate of growth compared with double-digit growth seen in 2002, when growth was almost 25%. Concern for employee safety on a corporate level has helped boost the PPE sector, according to the report. Despite this, a general economic slowdown is expected to have a negative impact on the industry in the short term.
"The rate of growth for this industry is dependant on both US and international economies," comments publisher, Tatjana Meerman.
