Zimbabwean commission questions textile prices

15/01/2008
According to reports, Zimbabwe’s National Incomes and Pricing Commission (NIPC) is questioning recent price hikes on textile and clothing items, particularly uniforms. It claims that each link in the production chain is blaming another link for the high prices, for example fabric producers are attributing the rises to high raw material costs. Its investigation has already prompted some retailers to lower prices, and it is hoped that more will follow as a result of NIPC pressure.
