Profit rises at Nakoda Textiles

Fully drawn yarn (FDY) producer Nakoda Textile Industries, based in India, has posted total revenues of Rs160.6 crore ($40.8 million) for the quarter ended December 2007 compared with Rs90.9 crore for the same period last year, a 77% increase. After-tax profit for the quarter rose 63% year-on-year to Rs2.9 crore.

For the year ended December 2007, sales were up 63% to Rs580 crore, while net profit totalled Rs9.8 crore, a 59% rise.

The company’s commissioned a new FDY plant with a 19500 MTPA capacity in November, which is now fully operational.
