Job cuts at Wet Seal
California-based clothing retailer Wet Seal Inc. has eliminated 41 jobs in a drive to improve efficiencies and cut costs. The majority of workers affected are currently based in its corporate offices. Furthermore, the company is no longer looking to fill ten existing vacancies that it had previously planned to fill.
The company hopes that these staff changes will engender pre-tax savings of approximately $4.3 million per year. Other cost-saving initiatives are likely to be introduced in order to reduce expenditure and increase profitability.
The firm specialises in sportswear, general apparel and accessories for teenage girls.
