New JV at Malaysian chemical plant
Malaysian chemicals firm Hextar Chemicals is to establish a joint venture with Indian firm Unitop Chemicals, which will be called Hextar Unitop Sdn Bhd. The deal, which is worth RM10 million ($3.1 million), will see the two firms team up to produce chemicals for the textile and agriculture industries, among others. Initially, the main sale destinations for the chemicals will be China, Indonesia and Thailand.
One of Hextar’s units, which includes warehousing and laboratories, will be used to produce certain chemical products and it is hoped that production will take off within the next six months.
