29/01/2008

The 22nd Texworld, which will be held in Paris on February 18-21, is to focus on competitively priced textiles in response to consumer demand across Europe. Fabrics will include cashmere, silk, linen and organic and performance fabrics.

At least 785 exhibitors are expected to fill halls one and two, including approximately 100 newcomers from China, India, South Korea and Turkey. These include: Birla Cellulose, a subsidiary of Indian group Aditya Birla; Gamateks Tekstil Sanay ve Ticaret AS, a Turkish company that specialises in fine cotton, from spinning to finishing; and Swiss performance fabrics specialist Huntsman Textile Effects.

One big change this year is the opening of the Clothing sector which will bring together approximately 20 clothing exhibitors including: Enexpol Poland SP; Ningbo Jinglian Wollen Knitting Co. ltd; ETS; and Beijing Rontex.

New services launched at the event will include i-TEX, which enables visitors to search for a particular fabric type, and Global Quality Offer, which helps buyers select the fabrics they need in compliance with quality standards and consumers’ increasingly precise requirements.
