Aquafil acquires Borgolon
Italian fabric producer Aquafil has acquired 100% of the shares of specialty yarns supplier Borgolon S.p.A., which will strengthen its textile and clothing sector. The Borgolon factory in Varallo Pombia has 75 employees and produces more than 3000 tons of specialty yarns per year.
Aquafil's managing director, Dr Giulio Bonazzi, explains: “The takeover is part of the strategy to reinforce Aquafil’s position in the European market for polyamide yarns.
“The market knows and appreciates Borgolon brands and products, identifying them as “the" brand for solution dyed polyamide textile yarns."
Aquafil is headquartered in Arco di Trento and employs approximately 2,000 workers in 11 factories located in Italy, Slovenia, United States, Croatia and Thailand.
