Hanesbrands reports Q4 sales increase and reveals strategy

Innerwear, outerwear and hosiery apparel marketer Hanesbrands Inc. has posted a 2.4% sales increase for its fourth quarter ended December 29. Sales for the quarter totalled $1.16 billion and this was the fourth consecutive quarter of growth. Hanes, Champion and Bali brand sales all increased during the quarter, and the Champion brand has recorded double-digit sales growth for three consecutive years.

Total net sales for the full year increased by $71 million, or 1.6%, to $4.47 billion.

"One of our strategies is to invest in our largest and strongest brands," chief executive officer, Richard Noll comments. "This strategy is delivering results."

in December, the company acquired the Inversiones Bonaventure S.A. de C.V. hosiery sewing operation in Las Lourdes, El Salvador. The 900-employee Bonaventure plant had been a contract sewing supplier for Hanesbrands for 12 years.
