64,000 visitors attend biggest ispo winter ever
The continued overlap between sport and lifestyle goods was apparent at ispo winter, held January 27-30 in Munich. The show hosted 2,026 exhibitors from 47 countries and 64,000 trade visitors from 113 countries. Approximately 70% of participants came from overseas. The Outdoor segment alone attracted 20,000 visitors.
Chief executive officer of Messe München, Manfred Wutzlhofer, says: "The demand in the sportstyle segment is especially strong.” And, in spite of recent challenges, winter sports appear to be recovering and reports indicate that there was greater optimism among exhibitors and retailers at the event.
Major topics at this year's ispo winter were recycling and eco-friendly materials as well as sustainable production of sporting goods.
Ispo winter 09 will take place from February 1-4, 2009.
