Adidas hits the track with Dale Earnhardt
Professional race car driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is to wear the famous three stripes at the 2008 Daytona 500 on February 17, as well as during the build up to the event from February 9. The adidas JR. Nation Gear will go on sale on February 15 in Daytona.
"I've been wearing adidas my whole life. It's who I am," says Mr Earnhardt.
He has worked closely with the adidas Innovation Team to create a race suit featuring ClimaCool technology. With extreme temperatures in the car, this technology will keep his body temperature lower, helping to combat fatigue and remain more alert and responsive throughout the race.
The apparel line will initially feature men's and women's apparel including t-shirts, jackets, hats and jerseys incorporating the same cooling technology. Future products include footwear and accessories.
