New president and luxury collection at Asics

Japan-based sports apparel and footwear company Asics Corp. has named Motoi Oyama president and representative director, effective April 1. He is to replace Kiyomi Wada, who will become chairman and representative director.

Mr Oyama has served at the company for 25 years, most recently as chairman, representative director and CEO of Asics Europe.

Furthermore, its sports fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger has launched a new luxury apparel range featuring Swarovski Elements. The spring/summer 2008 collection includes women's skirts, men's and women's tracksuit tops, T-shirts, wristbands and caps. The most memorable item is a tracksuit top for men with the trademark tiger design featuring 2,300 crystal stones in four colours.
